penticton and kamloops

on july 2 ny dad and i left vancouver by bus bound for penticton wich stoped over in westbank near kelowna. on the way we had stoped in chilliwack for 10 minutes and merrit for 20 minutes wich were rest stops before we changed buses in westbank. when we got to westbank we had half hour wait for our bus to pentiction. then at 3.40pm  the bus arived but it was not a greyhound bus it was a charter bus that took us from westbank to penticton wich we arived at 4.30pm. when we on our way to out hotel we shared a cab with a lady and she said the greyhound bus we were schuled to go on broke down.

we stayed 3 days in penticton wich i got to see the bc hockey hall of fame wich is in the south okanagan event centre wich was a five minute walk south of our hotel. the hall not great all it was was players and other hounories put into small display cabinets wich was on both sides of the hallway of the building. it was interesting so when we left the place a thunderstorm and lighting struck  but we waited undercover to see it calmdown. the other place we went to see was the paddlesteamer SS SICAMOUS and the two lake tugs the NARAMATA and the CN#6 wich until 1972 towed barges up and down okanagan lake wich now part of the  inland marine muesum. we went onboard the SICAMOUS wich is in good shape but the museum has plans to build a dock and puth the two tugs wich one is in the ground in the lake and make it more acesable to boaters because there is only one marina in penticton on the okanagan lake side and its full. the other thing we did was we took a transit bus from downtown penticton to the community of naramata wich is half hour north of town. along the way you see the lands growing orchards is now wineries wich most of the okanagan valley is  wineries and the land owners are getting out of the orchards  and going into wineries. when we got back to downtown penticton we took a trip on unique paddleweeler named CASABELLA PRINCESS wich  takes hour from the marina along the shorline of penticton with great views of the city from okanagan lake and the lake too. i found that the boat ride was great and had great views of the lake and penticton.

on july 5 we left penticton on a greyhound bus bound for kamloops wich took 5 hours wich we had stops in kelowna and vernon. when we left vernon we heaed northwest through a community named FALKLAND wich had a canadian flag on the hiil  with the towns name on top of it wich i though was neet. we arived in kamloops  at 11.45am and stayed for 2 days wile we were there it was hot and wich i was told by one of the locals it useally is hot in early july but there use to it. the best part of our stay in kamloops was the ride on the kamloops heritage railway wich goes from downtown kamloops across the thompŝon river and goes north from there. the ride last hour and got to see the thompson river and see it very high. during the trip the host are dressed up in gold rush days in the 1880s and when we got back to town we had a train robbery. when it robbery was over one of the actors explained the history of billy miner the greatest train robber of all time. i enjoyed the kamloops heritage railway it was fun and that was the best part of our stay in kamloops. the next day we got on a bus bound for vancouver and home so overal it was great to see penticton and kamloops wich i been before and see things i never seen before. i had a great time in the 6 days i was on the road.
